Lactuca is a micro farm with an obsession with salad greens. Started in spring 2012 lactuca is happy to wedge itself between the beautiful spring mixes of local farms and the cardboardy tasting mixes of Earthbound Organic. This backyard farm has an eye for detail. Greens are harvested the morning of the market and delivered via tricycle to the market.

Run by Travis, Claire and Vivian in Westmount, Lactuca grows ten salad green varieties in short rows in continuous rotation. Each variety was chosen for a particular effect in a salad. From the blushing metallic magenta meristem of amaranth to the creeping bite of the creasy greens, Lactuca seeks to surprise your palate with each fork full.

Mixes change dependent on season so be prepared for a shifting blend of tasty greens throughout the growing season.
