Meet the Team

It’s season 5 for us here at The 124 Grand Market and we have recently expanded the team! Since we’re your friendly neighbourhood market and we’re going to be working on lots of cool things this year, we thought you might like to know a little more about the brains behind the ‘Grand Market.’

Kirsta Franke — Owner & Market Director

IMG_0553A born and raised Edmontonian, Kirsta Franke has over a decade of experience in the culinary and event industry. Her previous work with the 124 Street Business Association allowed Kirsta to bridge a gap between producers, local businesses and citizens. In 2012, Kirsta spearheaded and founded Wild Heart Collective LTD. and the 124 Grand Market, an evening farmers’ market located in the heart of 124 Street. The 124 Grand Market has met resounding success and just launched for it’s fifth season. Also Co-chair of the Edmonton Food Council and Edmonton Area Farmers Market Collaborative with Alberta Agriculture, Kirsta has become an important voice within Edmonton’s developing food scene. Kirsta has also worked with local food business’ Blue Plate DinerLactuca, The Organic Box and Dovetail. She is keen to serve the interests of all patrons and vendors involved with the Grand Markets, especially when it concerns what they have on their dinner tables.

Along with the Wild Heart team, Kirsta has produced and programmed numerous events outside of the market scene, most recently, Nuit Blanche EdmontonThe Winter Shake-Up Festival with the City of Edmonton and the inaugural year for All is Bright on 124 Street in 2013.

In her spare-time, (which is rare) she enjoys her little balcony garden or her new large garden plot out at her family property, playing with her fur baby Ripley the dog, holding babies that aren’t hers and spending well deserved time with family and friends, eating, drinking and soaking up the finer things in life. You’ll most-likely find her about town visiting other farmers markets, events and taking in all of the culture Edmonton has to offer. Edmonton’s biggest champion!

Amy Hayduk — Market Director

IMG_0680

A product of a family owned business in a small town; hard-working and driven. Amy is passionate about community, collaboration, meaningful projects, and karaoke. She wears many hats—some better than others. When she is not working with local businesses (whether in marketing, management or coordinating events) she runs a theatre company. Amy is very excited to be back with the Grand Market team for a third season and she is even more excited to unveil some of the things that Wild Heart Collective has planned for this year. Amy feels an intense amount of gratification to be part of such a tight-knit, like-minded community and hopes to continue to work with inspiring individuals making great things happen.

Anne Seath — Community Projects Coordinator

Anne

A proud downtown Edmontontian, passionate about urban gardening, educating the next generation and using our city to it’s fullest potential. She is always on to go with a smile, finding different opportunities to work and talk to everyone. You may recognize Anne from her time at, the always wonderful, Duchess Bakeshop; she is excited to be back on 124 st working with the Grand Market and Wild Heart Collective this season. Anne got her energy and drive from her career as a 10m diver, through out University she would spend most of her time inside training and coaching. She is ready for the outdoor market season moving from the pool and into the garden working with our Little Beans. When she’s not working she’s biking to the pool or coffee shops around Edmonton or working on her ever expanding patio garden.

    Hello,

My name is Katarina. I wanted to further discuss an opportunity with your team. I am working with a landlord who is wanting to create a unique space in one of his building on 124 street. His vision is to have a vendor/vendors create their products in this building (large basement) and then use it to sell their products as retail. He is very specific on this vision and is looking for local talent. If you know of any vendors who would be interested please let me know and I can answer any questions. My phone is 780.702.9082
