Wondering how to spend you evening? How about a beautiful salad and a good book?

Lactuca Urban Farm was founded in 2012 as a backyard project directly retailing through the 124 Grand Market. Located at 79 street and 112 avenue in Edmonton, means your veg is coming straight from the fields to your table with minimal travel time. You will be amazing at the difference when lettuce has been cut that morning and is on your plate that afternoon. Grocery store lettuce can travel for weeks before it gets to consumers and so we often don’t get fresh or long lasting greens. We guarantee you’ve never had crisp spinach like Lactuca’s before. And if you ask real nice, Vicky or Travis will likely throw a couple flowers into your mixed greens too!

A new addition to our market is Denise Walker, an indie writer based out of a tiny apartment in Oliver, Edmonton, with a penchant for the dark and mysterious. Her debut novel Cedar Valley was released in September but has already received rave reviews on Goodreads. She works full-time as an Emergency Communications Officer at Ambulance Dispatch which provides her with a unique insight into people and crisis. She is returning today so don’t miss the opportunity to chat with her about the book and her other upcoming projects!
